Craig Cornelius is the Chief Executive Officer of Clearway Energy Group (“Clearway”), one of the largest clean energy companies in the United States. Including assets held through its affiliates, Clearway owns and operates over 8 GW in generation assets across 26 states, including one of the nation’s largest renewable energy fleets with over 5.7 GW in solar, wind, and energy storage. Clearway is also one of the country’s largest developers of clean energy projects, and today is advancing a nationwide pipeline of over 27 GW.

Prior to the formation of Clearway in 2018 through a private-equity sponsored spin-out of NRG’s clean energy businesses, Craig was President of NRG’s renewables division. Previously, he was the Program Manager of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Energy Technologies Program, where he led the creation of the $1.5 billion Solar America Initiative. He has also served terms at the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Thai Geoinformatics and Space Technology Development Agency, and the U.S. National Academies of Science, in each instance working on varied space technology research & development and operational initiatives.

Craig holds an A.B. from Princeton University in History of Science and an M.A. in Science, Technology and Public Policy from George Washington University.
